Announcing A New Location!

Oak Studios Of Design has moved to its new location! We are currently arranging a studio space at Envisage Gallery and Studios at 615 Castle St. Wilmington NC.

This building, in the historic downtown area, is the former Friendly's Department Store and is part of the Castle St Art and Antique District. As of this date, there are 11 other artists and artisans showing their work at Envisage. Studio spaces are currently being added to the rear portion of the building. The building also is attached and open to the Cape Fear Playhouse, a 40+ seat intimate theatre that is home to Big Dawg Productions.

I am very excited to be creating some new mosaics and other crafts to display in the retail area of the gallery/studios.

This is the little birdhouse that started it all!

The beginnings of Oak Studios Of Design came from the desire to use scraps of wood from our furniture and cabinetry business. We wanted to re-use as much of our scrap produced instead of discarding it into landfills. Adding mosaic art to our wood gave us a whole new line of products and gave us the artistic outlet we are always searching for.

Most of our pieces are a combination of our talents and yes, that is a hand cut and hammered copper roof! This birdhouse is a one-of-a-kind piece and was sold to an existing client of ours before the grout was even dry!
